Bank of England Museum – 325 Years, 325 Objects
This exhibition celebrated the Bank of England’s 325th anniversary and explored how the bank has developed in response to economic and societal changes over that time. The exhibition included a huge array of objects, including Roman relics, portraits, piggy banks, payment cards and a nuclear fall-out calculator.
Our approach to the display of such eclectic content was to introduce a catalogue-like system with each showcase dated and objects arranged in smaller thematic groupings on a flexible grid of shelves. Backgrounds were neutral and consistent throughout to give a sense of continuity and allow the objects to shine.
